Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator
Job Description
We are searching for an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to strengthen our Antibody Discovery team. The ideal candidate will have previous relevant working experience and be inspired to work in the biotechnology industry.
$45,000 - $65,000 annualized salary
This position is based in Victoria, BC. where the main activity is fee-for-service antibody development for international clients as a CRO.
The expected hours of work for this role: up to 30 hours in a week with potential for full time hours.

Key responsibilities shall include:
- Perform supply and equipment ordering and receiving for the site
- Oversee inventory management and reorder supply goods in a timely fashion
- Verify the receipt of ordered goods as outlined in the purchase order
- Expedite orders as needed
- Ensure that deliveries are received as expected and routed as planned/scheduled
- Ensure all documents required are filed / scanned appropriately in the IPA system
- Liaise with accounts payable and match supplier invoices to packing slips and purchase orders for correct payment
- Rectify wrong orders, discrepancies, damaged stock, and backorder issues
- Manage vendor relationships and identify strategic purchasing opportunities
- Develop cost saving initiatives in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives
- Research potential new vendors and perform risk analysis
- Perform quarterly inventory and track changes quarter over quarter
- Organize lab supplies for storage in a well laid-out, logical manner
- Ensure distribution of adequate supplies amongst several laboratory spaces
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliation in dedicated expense software
- Review all lab credit card purchases for accuracy and correct taxes
- Track and ensure client and R&D expenses are allocated to appropriate projects
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and/or previous work experience in purchasing and/or supply chain
- Scientific background or industry experience with scientific products preferred
- High proficiency with Microsoft 365 System, including Teams, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with enterprise resource planning software and expense programs
- Shipping experience is an asset
- Strong communication, self-directed organization, and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Multi-task and work collaboratively on a team and independently
- Work is performed in a laboratory environment, involving the handling of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be highly motivated with a flexible, hands-on mentality.
